The Better Supplement is a supplement research and affiliate website operated by OnMap Media LLC. This policy explains how information is handled when you browse, contact us, subscribe to email updates, or follow affiliate links.

Current status, 25 October 2026: Google Tag Manager is installed on www.thebettersupplement.com. Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity load only after you choose Accept analytics. Declining does not limit access to the site. Use Cookie settings on the Cookie Policy page to change or withdraw your choice; browser Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track keep analytics off. Your choice is stored locally for up to 180 days. Newsletter signup saves your email address and consent on our private server. No newsletter emails are being sent yet. See the Cookie Policy for details.

Information you provide and ordinary website records

If you email us, we receive your email address, the name and other details you choose to include, and your message. The About page contact form prepares a draft in your email app; we receive it only if you send it. We use correspondence to answer questions, investigate corrections and handle requests.

Our hosting and security providers may record your IP address, requested URL, time, referring page, browser and device information, and errors. These records help deliver pages, diagnose performance problems and prevent abuse. Search and tag filtering run in your browser without a separate search provider. Search terms included in a page URL may still appear in request logs or, when enabled, analytics unless excluded.

We do not offer visitor accounts or public comments, process payments, or ask for medical records or lab results. Please avoid sending sensitive health information. Reading a health-related page can itself reveal an interest in that topic; website activity should not be assumed to be anonymous.

Health-related browsing and sensitive information

Health information can be revealed without uploading a medical record. A visit to an article about blood sugar, fertility, anxiety or a medication interaction may suggest a health interest. Reading that article does not establish that you have a condition, take a medicine or are seeking treatment. However, linking that activity to an email address, IP address, cookie or device identifier can make it personal information and, depending on what it reveals and how it is used, consumer health data.

Possible routes include:

  • Pages and searches: page addresses, titles, search terms and navigation events can reveal symptoms, conditions, medicines or tests someone is researching. A host may receive the requested address even when optional analytics are disabled.
  • Session replay: a replay service may reconstruct the pages and controls you interact with. Masking a text field does not necessarily conceal the page address, page title or topic of a clicked link.
  • Email engagement: a tracked newsletter link can associate a particular health topic with a subscriber's email address. General permission to receive a newsletter is not permission for every use of information inferred from its clicks.
  • Affiliate activity: a product or lab-test destination, referral code or purchase report may reveal a health interest if linked to a person or device. Tracking on a retailer's site can be combined with information that retailer already holds.
  • Messages: a note you send us may contain symptoms, diagnoses, medication use or test results even though we do not request them. Please send only what is needed for your question or correction.

These examples describe potential exposure, not a statement that every activity listed is currently collected. Optional analytics do not collect before your consent. Page topics and interactions may be shared with Google and Microsoft after consent; do not use the site to submit sensitive information. Information you send by email and ordinary hosting records still need privacy protection. Replacing a name with a code, or displaying only aggregate reports, does not by itself establish that the underlying records are anonymous.

Before optional tracking is enabled, we will review the page information, events and identifiers sent to each provider and exclude sensitive information or restrict collection where necessary. This includes health-related search terms, contact text, newsletter identifiers and referral parameters. We will also assess whether session replay should be excluded from particular pages entirely. These are activation requirements; they are not a claim that an active tracking system has already passed those checks.

Where consumer health-data law applies, collection and sharing must have the permissions or other legal basis that law requires. A general cookie choice or newsletter subscription may not satisfy those requirements. You can contact us about access, deletion or withdrawal of permission using the state privacy request process below. We will not ask you to disclose a diagnosis to make a privacy request.

Newsletter and email updates

You can sign up now for future article updates, guides and product reviews. We store your email address, signup time and the wording/version of your consent in a private database on our hosting server. Signup is optional; it is separate from analytics consent and is not required to read the site.

We have not connected an email service provider and do not send confirmation or newsletter emails yet. Addresses remain unverified. We do not attach the article you read, search terms or browsing history to your subscription. There is no newsletter open or click tracking. We will identify the email provider and explain any new processing before using it to send updates; future newsletters may include affiliate links.

To unsubscribe or request deletion, email contact@thebettersupplement.com from the address you signed up with, using the subject “Unsubscribe”. We handle these requests manually for now. We remove your address from the signup list and keep a limited hashed suppression record to prevent accidental re-subscription. Each future newsletter will also include an unsubscribe link.

We keep signup details until you unsubscribe or request deletion, or until we discontinue the newsletter. We restrict access to the database to authorized operators and do not sell or rent the list. Contact the same address with privacy questions or to request rejoining after an unsubscribe.

Search visibility and website performance

Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools

We may use these services to monitor search visibility, indexing, crawl errors and page performance. Their reports show search queries and pages alongside measures such as impressions, clicks and average position, with breakdowns such as country or device where available. They provide search-engine reports rather than a list identifying individual visitors. Site verification through a DNS record, file or meta tag does not itself install visitor analytics or session recording.

Google and Microsoft process activity on their own search services under their own policies. See Google's Privacy Policy and the Microsoft Privacy Statement. A choice about analytics on this site does not change how those search services process searches.

Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

When enabled, GA4 will help us understand traffic sources, page use and which content or links visitors find useful. Depending on our settings and your choices, it can collect page URLs and titles, referring sites, interaction events such as scrolls and outbound clicks, timestamps, browser and device details, approximate location, and cookie or similar identifiers. Google receives network information when requests reach its services; Google states that GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses.

Our GA4 tag removes query strings and fragments from page addresses and sends only the origin of a referring address. Enhanced measurement is off, and search and contact pages are excluded. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses or contact messages. Page topics can still reveal health interests. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google's Analytics privacy information.

Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager to deploy and manage consent-controlled measurement tags. It is a delivery and configuration tool; the tags it loads determine what visitor activity is measured and which providers receive it. Google also processes standard request logs and limited diagnostic information for Tag Manager itself. Installing a tag manager does not replace any consent required for the tags inside it. See Google Tag Manager's data privacy information.

With analytics consent, we count acknowledged newsletter signup requests, validated contact-form email-draft handoffs, and outbound clicks grouped as informative sources, lab tests or explicitly marked supplement affiliate links. We send only the destination domain and a fixed submission-method label for these events, never form names, email addresses, messages, link text, or destination URL paths, queries and fragments. A contact-form event means an email draft was opened; it does not confirm delivery. A signup event counts an acknowledged request, not a verified or necessarily new subscriber.

Microsoft Clarity

When enabled, Clarity will help us find navigation and usability problems through heatmaps, interaction metrics and session replay. It may collect page and referrer details, clicks, scrolling, pointer movements, browser and device information, identifiers and network information. Replay reconstructs interactions with a page; it is not a recording of your camera or microphone. Clarity may use first- and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies.

Clarity is configured for strict text masking. Our tag excludes search and contact pages and pages opened with query strings or fragments. Masking does not conceal page topics or every interaction. We send analytics consent only after acceptance and keep advertising consent denied. Microsoft processes information under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Our use is website usability analysis. See Clarity's data collection documentation.

Affiliate links and attribution

We may earn a commission when you follow an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase. Retailers such as Amazon or iHerb, and the affiliate networks used for those links, may process referral and campaign codes, click identifiers, timestamps, referring URLs, IP addresses, browser or device details, and purchase or conversion information. Tracking can use URL parameters, redirects, cookies, pixels or server-to-server reporting to attribute a purchase, calculate commissions and detect fraud.

Where available, we may receive reports showing clicks, attributed orders or products, order values and commissions. We do not operate the retailer's checkout or receive your payment-card details through affiliate attribution. Reports and tracking periods vary by program; a cookie's expiry is not necessarily the retention period for an order or commission record.

Retailers and networks handle information under their own privacy policies once you follow their links. Their controls may differ from ours. You can visit a retailer directly without using our affiliate link. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how commissions support the site. We will identify active tracking partners and any tracking installed on our own pages before enabling those integrations.

Cookies, consent and your choices

Cookies and similar technologies can recognize a browser, connect page visits and attribute referrals. Our Cookie Policy explains their intended uses and current status. Newsletter permission is separate from permission for optional website tracking. Reading this policy or continuing to browse does not, by itself, provide consent where consent is required.

Optional Analytics and Clarity tags stay off until you select Accept analytics. Use Cookie settings on the Cookie Policy page to decline or withdraw permission; withdrawing reloads the page with these tags off and removes their first-party cookies. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track also keep them off. These controls do not control retailer sites or other services, and withdrawal does not erase information already collected.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser and use tracking protection. Blocking cookies does not necessarily stop all network requests, link attribution or server logs. Google also offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on; it does not disable Clarity, newsletter tracking or affiliate tracking.

Sharing, retention and security

Information may be handled by providers supporting hosting, security, email delivery, analytics and affiliate attribution, as applicable. We may also disclose information when legally required or necessary to investigate abuse or protect rights. Providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use the required arrangements.

We keep correspondence and operational records for as long as needed to handle the relevant request, operate and secure the site, meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. GA4 user and event retention is configured to two months, with resetting on new activity off; this does not limit most aggregated reports. Microsoft describes ordinary Clarity recording retention as 30 days; favorites and a randomly selected sample can be retained for up to nine months. Provider retention can differ from browser cookie lifetimes. See Google's retention explanation and Clarity's retention information. Newsletter and affiliate retention details will be published when those integrations are selected.

We take reasonable steps to protect information, but no transmission or storage method is completely secure. We do not sell personal information for money. Some disclosures to advertising or attribution providers can be treated as a sale or sharing under certain privacy laws even without a payment for data; before enabling such uses, we will disclose them and provide the choices required by applicable law.

U.S. state privacy rights

This section supplements the rest of this policy for U.S. residents. Rights vary with your state, the information involved and whether a particular law applies to our activities. You may contact us about your information wherever you live. This section does not mean that every state law applies to every visitor or that the inactive services described above are operating.

Access, correction, deletion and other choices

Subject to applicable law and its exceptions, you may have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal information, learn about its collection and disclosure, and obtain access or a portable copy.
  • Correct inaccurate information or request deletion of information we hold about you.
  • Opt out of a sale of personal information, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising, or certain profiling used for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
  • Limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information, or give and withdraw consent for sensitive-data processing where the applicable law provides those rights.
  • Appeal a denied request where your state provides an appeal right, and exercise your rights without unlawful discrimination.

California residents

Where the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, applies, the rights above include knowing the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, their sources and purposes, and the categories of recipients, including information sold, shared or disclosed for a business purpose. The collection, provider, affiliate and retention sections above describe our practices and distinguish current handling from planned integrations.

We do not sell personal information for money. Whether a particular analytics, advertising or affiliate disclosure constitutes a legal sale or sharing depends on the data flow, provider use and contractual terms; an affiliate commission alone does not settle that question. Before enabling a covered use, we will provide the required notice and effective opt-out mechanism. Learn more about California rights from the California Privacy Protection Agency.

Making a request or appeal

Email contact@thebettersupplement.com with the request you want to make and your state of residence so we can apply the relevant rights. You may use the subject “Privacy request.” You do not need an account or a medical explanation. We may request information reasonably needed to locate your records, verify your identity or confirm an authorized agent's authority. Opt-out requests will not be subjected to identity verification where the law prohibits it.

Where permitted by applicable law, an authorized agent may submit a request for you; we may ask for proof of authorization and any confirmation the law allows. We will respond within the applicable legal period and explain a denial or a permitted extension. If an appeal right applies, reply to our decision or email the same address with “Privacy appeal.” We will review it and explain the result and any applicable route to complain to your state attorney general or privacy regulator.

Opt-out signals and tracking choices

The current site loader recognizes Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track by not loading GA4 or Clarity when either signal is present. Global Privacy Control can communicate a legally recognized opt-out in applicable states; Do Not Track is a separate browser signal. Use Cookie settings on the Cookie Policy page to change your analytics choice. These controls do not apply to retailer websites, newsletter tracking or future tags. Before adding covered sale, sharing or targeted-advertising uses, we will apply legally required opt-out signals and controls to those uses as well.

You may also email us to request an applicable opt-out. Browser signals ordinarily relate to the browser or device sending them; an email request can help us locate other records where appropriate. Newsletter unsubscribe is a separate choice, as described above. See the Cookie Policy for current browser controls.

Washington, Nevada and consumer health data

Some state laws protect consumer health data outside traditional medical records. Where applicable, rights may include confirming collection or sharing, accessing health data and recipient information, withdrawing consent and requesting deletion. Washington and Nevada impose specific requirements on covered collection and sharing, including separate consent for sharing where consent is required. See Washington's My Health My Data Act and Nevada's consumer health-data provisions.

The health-data section above explains the potential exposure on this site. We will assess applicable health-data requirements before activating optional tools. If our practices require a separate consumer health-data privacy policy, we will publish it with the required prominent link and identify the actual data, purposes, recipients and rights process. This general explanation does not replace that separate notice or any required consent.

Your other privacy requests

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or opt out of certain sharing. Contact us at the address below. We may need to verify your request and explain any lawful limits on deletion. Where applicable, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Where a legal basis is required, we rely on consent for requested newsletter subscriptions and optional tracking that requires consent, legitimate interests for necessary site operation, security and responding to correspondence where permitted, and legal obligations for records or disclosures required by law.

The site and newsletter are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.
